To date, Elton John has 57 top 40 hits in the United States, second only to Elvis Presley in total. 27 of these reached the top ten and nine made it to the number one position. In his native United Kingdom, Elton has accumulated 69 top 40 singles, including 32 top tens and 7 number ones. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted in 1998. Elton retired from concert tours in 2018.
